1. Why should I buy a Superknife as opposed to any other utility knife?
- Superknife, “the original folding utility knife”, is a high quality pocketknife that you don’t have to be afraid to really use and put to work.
- The Superknife will hold different thickness of blades; from the .016” (1/64”) extra thin blades to the .039” (1mm) contractor grade blade. The blade holder will hold the varying thicknesses tightly, giving the Superknife the feel of a top quality pocketknife.
- The blade in the Superknife will not be accidentally released while the knife is in use or in your pocket. There are no external latches to catch on materials being cut or on your clothes. The one-piece blade holder design is extremely strong and ensures the blade will not slip out under pressure.
- The smooth contours of the Superknife give it the look and feel of a high quality pocketknife. It fits comfortably in your hand when it is open and while closed.
- The Superknife clip allows the knife to sit deep in your pocket or on your belt.
- The Superknife can safely and easily be opened and closed with one hand, leaving your other hand free to hold your work.
2. What is the difference between the Rubberized, Original, and SK2 Superknives? All Superknives feature our patented one-piece stainless steel blade holder.
Original Superknife:
- Anodized aluminum handle
- Requires removal of blade screw to change the blade
- 2-in-1 tool included for convenient blade change wherever you may be
Rubberized Superknife:
- Plastic rubberized handle
- Requires removal of blade screw to change the blade
- Spare blade screw built into the handle of the knife
- Lanyard hole in the handle for convenience
SK2:
- Anodized aluminum handle
- Tool-less blade change mechanism
- Longer handle for firmer grip
- Deeper belt clip to set the knife lower in your pocket
- Lanyard hole in the handle for convenience
3. Where can I buy a Superknife?
- Please enter your zip code into our dealer locator
in the “Dealer” section of our web site.

4. How do you close the Superknife?
- To close the Superknife, locate the liner lock on the inside of the handle. Press the liner lock to the side, towards the belt clip side of the knife. Fold the knife closed.
5. What size Allen wrench fits the handle screws for the Superknife?
- A 1.5mm Allen wrench will fit the handle screws in the Superknife. If you have on of the “old models” of the original Superknife, the blade holder will be more of a polished stainless steel. This model requires a 0.05” Allen wrench.
6. How do you change the blade in the Superknife?
- Keeping the knife closed, remove the blade retention screw. Open the knife and replace the blade. Close the knife. Re-insert and tighten the blade retention screw.
7. What is the warranty on Superknife products?
- Superknife branded product is warranted against factory defects in workmanship
and materials for a period of 1 year from date of purchase. Upon notice
in writing, Gerber Legendary Blades will promptly repair or replace the
defective product. Warranty does not cover equipment damages resulting
from abuse, damage in transit, or other damage beyond the control of Gerber
